I worked with Power Forward tutoring while preparing for my SAT/ACTs and again to work on the CARS portion of my MCAT preparation. I always struggled with critical reading aspects of standardized tests and choosing between the best two answer choices. I benefited so much from their strategies to approach these portions of my exams. As a current medical student preparing for my Step2 exam, I still use their strategies to this day to make sense of difficult questions, to save time during test sections, and to review practice questions, which is extremely important given the high volume of tests I have.


I also connected with them while applying to both college and medical school to help navigate the countless essays that I had to write. They were immensely helpful in helping me develop a unique writing voice. This helped me frame my experiences in such a way that not only aligned with institutions to which I was applying but also was authentic to myself because they took the time to genuinely get to know me throughout our work together.


Through their help, I was able to achieve my lifelong goal of not only getting into medical school but also my dream program in my hometown! I was able to boost my standardized test score significantly, and when speaking with program directors during interviews, many of them commented on how great my personal statement and other essays were. In fact, my first year seminar professor at my undergrad institution recognized my name from my personal statement and shared the story with my classmates about how it moved him! They are the real deal and very fun to work with, which is important because these applications and time preparing for difficult exams can be daunting, but meeting with them is refreshing and exciting. I am forever grateful for their help!
